Great launches from the superyacht yards

A busy few weeks at the yards has seen a quartet of stunning superyachts hit the water, with Amels,Benetti and Cantieri delle Marche hosting launches.

Amels has launched the 55-metre Engelberg, the latest in the yard’s hugely successful Limited Editions line, with delivery to the owner scheduled for the end of May. The yacht will be cruised privately and features a contemporary interior by Enzo Enea and Focus Yacht Design. The build has been managed by Ocean Independence’s Swiss-based yacht management division. With stylish lines by Tim Heywood, the yacht also features a distinctive charcoal grey hull and an orange-tinted boot-topping. On- board features include folding balconies on the main deck, easy-access stairs folding out of the swim platform, and an extra-large sundeck engineered for a touch’n'go helipad.

Ocean Paradise is a 55-metre steel and aluminium yacht just launched by Benetti. With a stunning interior designed in-house by Mauro Izzo, the yacht features an indoor  garden – see renderings here. Ocean Paradise sleeps 12 guests and is available for charter through Y.Co.

Another launch from the Benetti yard this month is the 42-metre Luna, the second Crystal 140. She offers accommodation for up to ten guests in five suites, and boasts a beach club and tender garage. Interior design is by the Benetti Technical Department.

Cantieri delle Marche has launched Stella di Mare, the first of its 30-metre Darwin class explorers. The steel and aluminium yacht is designed by Sergio Cutolo of Hydro Tec for an owner who intends to take his large family on extensive cruises, starting in the Mediterranean, before an Atlantic crossing to the US East Coast and the Caribbean. The owner is said to be a passionate yachtsman who likes nothing more than spending time in the wheelhouse. For this reason, Cantiere delle Marche has designed a custom sky lounge that is open to the wheelhouse, with a rollaway screen to avoid light interference at night. If the experience of the Darwin 86 Percheron, launched last year, is anything to go by, Stella di Mare can look forward to some extensive cruising.
